07 - NURBS and Bezier Curve Modeling

NURBS Curve

01: First I began by creating a simple NURBS circle. And a NURBS Path. I then select the circle and changed the fill to full and changed the bevel to a higher number which created a thicker circle, I also changed the resolution option to a higher number to create a smoother circle. I then went into edit mode and adjusted the circle so it was more of a oval.

02: I duplicated the oval and then rotate it 90 degrees along the x and then moved it over so its linked to the other oval.

03: I then added a array modify which basically adds more of the circle along the X. I changed the count to a higher number so I had more and more chains although to create a more flexible path I added another modify and choose curve, I then went back into the curve object and choose the past as the object. Then went into the array modify and told it to fix the path to the curve so when I add more 'links' it will do it to the Nurbs path.

Here is my final model:

Bezier Curve Modeling

01: I first create a Nurbs Circle and a bezier Curve.
I went into edit mode with the bezier curve and then rotated it 90 so it is facing straight up into the Nurbs circle.

02:  I then went into the curves options to the right and choose bezier curve as the bevel object. which created a vase shape.  I then placed the bezier Curve next to the vase so it was pointing up along the side.

03: I then went back into edit mode and started to move around the bezier curve which changed the shape of the vase.  I then began by messing around with the bezier curve by scaling and extruding the bezier curve.  I also changed the handle type to vector which made the curve have more of a sharp curve which I then extruded which created the 'cup' shape.
